KYOCERA devices are compatible with general office paper made from renewable content, pre and post- consumer recycled content as well as chlorine-free paper.

Kyocera business devices will not prevent the use of non-genuine toner containers. However, Kyocera strongly recommends that customers use only genuine Kyocera toner to ensure superior productivity, reliability and image quality.

Kyocera Document Solutions products incorporate an embedded Linux operating system and an application that provides multifunction/printer capabilities.
Therefore, an operating system and firmware are applicable to these products.
Firmware for products registered to EPEAT 2.0 is available to product owners throughout the product’s lifetime, and for up to five (5) years after the end of production.
Steps to Download Firmware Updates:

- Locate the files: Click on the “Firmware,” “Software,” or “Drivers” tab to view the available files.

A MyKyocera account is required to download firmware. If you purchased your product through a Kyocera direct subsidiary or an authorized dealer and do not have account access, please contact your vendor directly for assistance.

EPEAT 2.0 compliant products include a “Data Sanitization” feature to securely delete user data. This feature supports all storage types, regardless of the storage configuration installed in the product, including solid state drive (SSD), hard disk drive (HDD), and other onboard memory.
In accordance with EPEAT 2.0, SSD and HDD are sanitized to meet NIST 800-88R1 Purge level requirements, and onboard memory is sanitized to meet NIST 800-88R1 Clear level requirements.
This feature is available and supported throughout the product lifecycle, including after end of production.

Kyocera’s Recycling Program provides a convenient disposal solution for environmentally-conscious customers that want to recycle their Kyocera toner and waste containers, designated Kyocera products and Kyocera product & consumable packaging, but are unable to do so within their local community.
Kyocera strongly encourages local recycling when possible, and environmentally-friendly packaging to limit the burden on the environment.
All Kyocera manufactured components mentioned above may now be shipped to the Kyocera Recycle Center in Hebron, Kentucky for recycling:

Instructions on How to Return Toner Containers or Waste Toner Containers:

Place the used Toner Container or Waste Container in the plastic bag provided in the replacement packaging and seal it. Place the plastic bag in the carton and seal it with tape. If a plastic bag is not provided, cover the waste container opening with the seal provided on the container.
Product and Packaging Shipments are required to be sent via:
Common Ground Carrier, such as UPS Ground, FedEx Ground, SAIA, FedEx Freight, etc.

Kyocera Document Solutions, in accordance with the Kyocera Group “Responsible Mineral Sourcing Policy” established based on the OECD, investigates its supply chain to determine whether risks such as conflict and human rights abuses exist in 3TG minerals (gold, tin, tantalum, and tungsten). We undertake risk mitigation and supply chain transparency initiatives, including risk assessment and corrective actions.
7.3.2 Public disclosure of due diligence processes for cobalt in products
Kyocera Document Solutions, in accordance with the Kyocera Group “Responsible Mineral Sourcing Policy” established based on the OECD, investigates its supply chain to determine whether risks such as conflict and human rights abuses exist in Cobalt. In the survey of our business partners, we use the “Conflict Minerals Reporting Template (CMRT)” developed by the Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI*), an international organization that addresses responsible mineral sourcing issues. We conduct activities such as verifying the smelters/refiners listed in the CMRTs provided by our business partners against lists disclosed by the RMI, among other measures.

KYOCERA devices are compatible with general office paper made from 100％post- consumer recycled content as well as chlorine-free paper.
8.2.1 Take-back program for imaging equipment cartridges and containers
Guided by EPEAT standards, Kyocera minimizes its environmental footprint by following a strict waste hierarchy for all collected toner containers. The primary focus is always on resource conservation through container reuse and remanufacturing. If that is not possible, materials are diverted into high-grade recycling streams for new manufacturing lifecycles, leaving waste-to-energy recovery as a final resort for any non-recyclable components.
